Yay, you have butterflies in your garden! Great captures of that gorgeous cat!
I think it's a two tail swallowtail that appears to be missing one of its tails. The missing tail slowed it down a bit and allowed me to take the photos.
Beautiful photos of the butterfly and the flowers. Your third and fourth photos are my favourites, so delicate.
It was so pretty to watch fluttering from flower to flower.
Beautiful photos. You really caught some great ones. Cher
Thanks Cher. I was taking a break from gardening and it just appeared.
I was going to ask how you got so many pics when they flit too fast for me...now I know :)...fab pictures...we have had one in the garden who has dropped by a few times now...and I hope they will stop by again and lay some eggs...
I don't think I've ever gotten any eggs. I'll be on the look out this year. They're usually too fast for me, too. :)
Beautiful!!! Great photos! I've been on the lookout for monarchs, but don't think I've seen any yet.
I don't see many monarchs, but when I worked downtown I would see them everywhere. Hope you find some!
Gorgeous captures. I saw one in my garden, but it did not sit long enough. Really love your images.
Thanks Donna! The butterfly hung out in the garden for a long time. I was very surprised.
Beautiful pictures! I have no luck at butterflies.
Thanks Daniela! I think the butterfly missing one of its two tails was why I was so lucky.
Theta, your images do enchant. Also, you obviously have created a welcoming environment for butterflies, including those delicious plants.Do your swallowtails usually show up at this time of year?
Thanks so much Lee! I think when I switched over to more natural products like neem and dormant oil about five years ago, I started attracting more wildlife in the garden. The swallowtails are early this year because the flowers are blooming a couple of weeks earlier.
Prześliczny motyl, a zdjęcia wspaniałe. Pozdrawiam.Lovely butterfly and wonderful pictures. Yours.
Thanks Giga; it was fun to take the photos. Dzięki Giga, była zabawa do podjęcia zdjęć.
Beautiful. Butterflies always take my breath away with their delicate beauty. In fact, I try not to breathe around them - hoping they will stay in my presence for a little longer bit of time! Great captures.
This one had an injury. Otherwise, it might not have hung out with me for so long.
So glad you're back posting again!
Cindy, I'm glad I'm back, too. I thought about taking a class this summer and decided to garden instead.
Beautiful photographs, beautiful nature. I am greeting
Thank you for visiting my blog. It was exciting to have a visitor that day!
Beautiful!!! I think they are one of the most beautiful butterflies.
Thanks Michele. I think I like the photo where it looks like the butterfly is gliding the best.
Gorgeous photos! I am always so thrilled when I see butterflies in my garden, but I rarely get good shots of them. You had a very cooperative subject!
Oh, how wonderful! There are not many butterflies in my garden, so far. But, I saw a hummingbird already! I love the spanish lavender in your blog's header pictures, too!
There is a swallowtail butterfly who has been flitting about the garden for the last couple of days, but it never stays put long enough for me to grab the camera, let alone take a picture. Your shots are wonderful and I appreciate them all the more knowing how hard these kind of shots are to take.
